• Liliana Soto

    DIRECTOR

    Liliana Soto is a multi-award-winning journalist, an assistant professor of practice and an assistant director for the Bilingual Journalism Program at the University of Arizona School of Journalism. Soto holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. She has over 10 years of experience in broadcast news in English and Spanish with a specialization in bilingual investigative journalism, immigration, the U.S.-Mexico border, Latino issues, marginalized communities, and Mexican-centric Latin Culture. Soto is originally from Caborca, Sonora, Mexico.

  • Alexandra Mora Medina

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/ AUDIO DIRECTOR

    Alexandra Mora Medina is a master’s student of the UA´s Bilingual Journalism Program. She earned a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. Originally from Tolleson, Arizona, Mora Medina is also 3-time Arizona Latino Media Association (ALMA) Scholar, NBCU Academy Scholar, National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), and Student Project Fellow. She has been published in KJZZ, Cronkite News, and the West Valley View.

  • Liliana López Ruelas

    BILINGUAL EXECUTIVE EDITOR

    Liliana López Ruelas is from Agua Prieta, Mexico, and Douglas, Arizona. She has a BA in Communications Sciences from the University of Sonora and is a graduate student of the UA´s Bilingual Journalism Program. Liliana worked for 12 years with the Arizona Daily Star, where she was the Hispanic Community Engagement Editor and Editor of La Estrella de Tucsón.

  • Susan Barnett

    MULTIMEDIA EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Susan Barnett is originally from Tucson, Arizona. She is pursuing a master's in journalism at the University of Arizona and holds a BA in Communication from the UA . Previously, she worked at Arizona Daily Star and La Estrella de Tucson. She is also an NBCU Academy Scholar.

    BILINGUAL MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER/ SR. WRITER

    Dawn Page has a BS in Business Admin and Marketing from UA and is currently in the master's program for Bilingual Journalism at UA. She has worked for Telemundo, CNN Latino, and La Opinión, among other news and broadcast organizations.

  • Flo Tomasi

    SR. MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER/EDITOR

    Flo Tomasi is French-Venezuelan and has specialized in migration narratives since her journalistic training in France. Having grown up between Caracas and the French-Italian border, she focuses her work on border issues and has covered areas like Calais or Ventimiglia back in Europe. She advocates ethical journalism that respects the trust and dignity of the humans she interviews. She has also worked as an animal trainer for several years and is passionate about behavioral and cognitive sciences. She is currently preparing a research about the Venezuelan region of Los Llanos where she will be traveling in 2024.

  • Mario Alberto Sosa Ramirez

    MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER/SR. EDITOR

    Mario Alberto Sosa Ramirez is originally from Mexico City, Mexico. He is currently pursuing a master's at the UA. Previously, he studied communication sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

  • Daniela Cazares

    MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER/ SR. EDITOR

    Daniela Cazares is an undergraduate ​senior at the UA, majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in Spanish. Originally from East Wenatchee, Washington, she is also the vice president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), and is currently working with the marketing and communications department at Digital Futures bilingual studios in Tucson Arizona.

  • Olivia Krupp

    EDITOR/WRITER

    Olivia Krupp is an undergraduate junior studying journalism at UA, originally from Chicago, Illinois. She is the President of the UA Women in Journalism Club and the opinions editor at the Daily Wildcat. She was a recipient of the Douglas Martin Award. Her work was published in the Chicago Tribune, and she has been featured in the Washington Post.

  • Natasha Cortinovis

    SR. WRITER/PHOTOGRAPHER

    Natasha Cortinovis is a master’s student in the Bilingual Journalism Program at the University of Arizona. She previously earned an MA in TESOL, and a Spanish/Latin American Literature Certificate at the University of West Virginia and an MA in Languages’ Teaching at the University Of Aosta Valley (Italy). Natasha is also a hiking guide in the Italian Alps, a fond traveler and an outdoor enthusiast. She still wishes to become a Diving Instructor and a Journalist for underserved communities, the environment and wildlife.

  • Alejandro B. Torres Calderon Arrieta

    PHOTO MANAGING EDITOR/ SR. WRITER

    Alejandro B. Torres Calderon Arrieta is originally from Tortugas, Ancash, Perú. He holds a B.A. in Communications from UA and a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. He is currently studying two M.A.s at UA, one in Global Media and the other in Bilingual Journalism. He as well, published a book on theology and its benefits for human development, before earning a B.A.

    Colton Allder is a Marine Corps veteran from Rogers, AR and an undergraduate at the University of Arizona's School of Journalism. He is a writer and photographer at the Daily Wildcat, and likes to ride motorcycles, hike, boulder, and read books
